Level 1 EV Charger - 120 Volt
(Great for Home, Office or Public)
Level 1 EV chargers uses a common 120-volt residential electrical outlet. All electric vehicles, including Teslas, can be charged using a Level 1 EV charger. Level 1 chargers are the slowest of all chargers and works best plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) versus EVs that are driven on a daily basis.
Level 2 EV Charger - 208 Volt to 240 Volt
(Great for Home, Office or Public)
Level 2 EV chargers are are the most common electric vehicle chargers used for daily driving as most cars can be charged overnight using the level 2 EV charger. Level 2 chargers are able to charge vehicles up to 10 times faster than a level 1 EV charger. Most Tesla chargers are Level 2 EV Chargers.
Level 3 EV Charger - 400 Volt to 900 Volt
(Great for Public)
Level 3 EV chargers are the fastest EV chargers out there. They charge in minutes, as opposed to hours like the level 1 and level 2 EV chargers. Due to the voltage required for these charger, most homes are not capable of the output required for this type of charger. So, the level 3 EV chargers will typically only be seen in public places.
Tesla Car Charger
(Great for Home)
The Tesla Wall Connector is Tesla's branded version of the Level 2 EV Charger. The Wall Connector is compatible with Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y and is capable of providing up to 44 miles of range per hour of charge, with up to 11.5 kW / 48 amp output, depending on model.
